The entire Pomurje region is a paradise for cyclists. The flat part is perfect for easier cycling and getting to know the beauties of Pomurje. The landscape is vast enough to satisfy even cyclists who like to cycle long distances. More demanding cycling challenges await the most persistent on the hilly part of Goričko.

Poljska pot (Field Route)
The route: Banovci – Grlava – Kristanci – Šalinci – Babinci – Ljutomer – Cven – Mota – Krapje – Banovci

The route is 19 kilometers long and is classified as easy. It starts right in front of our Apartment Mariposa, from where you go in the direction of Grlava, to Krištanci, Šalinci and Babinci towards Ljutomer. As the administrative and cultural center of Prlekija, the town deserves a stop and sightseeing. You continue your journey to the village of Cven, which is famous for the first horse races from 1874, and on through Mota to Krapje, where you can find a unique beekeeping museum. In the end you head towards Banovci and complete the journey.


Vardova pot (Vards Route)
The route: Ljutomer - Stročja vas - Slamnjak - Podgorje - Gresovščak - Ljutomer

The route is 11 kilometers long and is moderately demanding. It runs from Ljutomer, through Stročja vas, past the chapel of St. Anne to Vard Castle. From the top of the hill there is a beautiful view of the Prlekija region and vineyards. You continue through Slamnjak and Podgradje. On the way, you can stop at ponds and walk by the water. From the ponds, the route will take you back towards Ljutomer.


Vinska pot (Wine Route)
The route: Ljutomer - Podgorje - Radomerje - Cuber - Železne dveri - Jeruzalem - Radomerščak - Mekotnjak - Spodnji Kamenščak - Ljutomer

The route is 14 kilometers long and is moderately demanding. It starts in Ljutomer and runs through Podgorje to Radomerje, where you can stop and rest under the treetop of a mighty oak. You continue towards Cuber, where you can see the Ralo Museum, where agricultural machinery and tools are displayed outdoors. The route continues through the Ljutomer-Ormož Vineyards, which are not only famous for the wines, but also for the beauty of the landscape. Cycle through Železne dveri to Jeruzalem and stop at one of the many wineries, tourist farms or wine cellars on the way. In Jerusalem, you can visit the Tourist Information Center, where you can taste and buy different wines from local producers or buy a souvenir. In any case, take your time and indulge yourself in the wonderful views that this town has to offer. Continue the route towards Radomerščak, Mekotnjak, all the way to Spodnji Kamenščak and finish it in Ljutomer.


Grossmannova pot (Grossmanns Route)
The route: Ljutomer - Cezanjevci - Branoslavci - Grabe - Ključarovci - Logarovci - Gajševci - Precetinci - Kuršinci - Mala Nedelja - Drakovci - Moravski Vrh - Gomila - Moravci in Slovenske Gorice - Godemarci - Radoslavci - Vogričevci - Vidanovci - Stara Cesta - Mekotnjak - Spodnji Kamenščak - Ljutomer

The route is 41 kilometers long and is a demanding route. It runs from Ljutomer towards Cezanjevci, through Branoslavci, Grabe, Ključarovci and Logarovci, to Gajševci. Here you can relax by the Gajševci Lake, which is a popular gathering place for local fishermen and walkers. The route then climbs to Precetinci, Kuršinci and continues towards Mala Nedelja and Moravci in Slovenske gorice, where you can find a thermal spa. You can stop and jump into refreshing pools or regenerate tired muscles from cycling in the thermal water. You continue past Godemarci, Radoslavci, Vogričevci, to Stara Cesta. Here you can stop at one of the tourist farms and taste Prlekija delicacies. Then through Spodnji Kamenščak back to Ljutomer.


Pot Jeruzalem (Jeruzalem Route)
The route: Ljutomer – Jeruzalem – Vinski Vrh – Miklavž pri Ormož – Zasavci – Lačaves – Gomila pri Kogu – Stročja Vas – Ljutomer

The route is 25 kilometers long and it overcomes a height difference of around 300 m. Therefore, it is a challenge even for experienced cyclists. But it offers beautiful views of the lanscape and therefore worth the effort. You can stop at one of the wineries or at the Jeruzalem Tourist Information Center, where you can taste and buy wines from local producers or some souvenirs.


Pot užitka (The Route of pleasure)
The route: Murska Sobota - Markišavci - Polana - Černelavci - Krog - Bakovci - Rakičan - Noršinci - Tešanovci - Moravske toplice - Martjanci - Nemčavci - Murska Sobota

The route is 38 kilometers long and is classified as easy. You start your journey in Murska Sobota, which is the administrative, political and cultural center of Prekmurje. The town impresses with cultural attractions, a large city park and sports areas, as well as numerous events throughout the year. From there you cycle in the direction of Markišavci, where you can visit a local ham shop and continue to Polana, where storks nest. You continue in the direction of Černelavci to Krog, to the Mura river. Resting in the fresh air with the sound of the water is perfect. The route takes you further to Bakovci, which is known for its local inn with a long-years tradition. Continue towards Rakičan, where a mighty mansion with horse stables awaits you. You can also cycle to the Rakičan airport. Continue through Noršinci to Tešanovci, where we recommend a visit to the chocolate shop and forward to Moravske Toplice, where a famous thermal spa is. Take some time and refresh in the pools or just relax in the thermal water. Continue the route towards Martjanci and finish in Murska Sobota.


Pot svetovnega rekorda (World record Route)
The route: Moravske Toplice – Tešanovci – Bogojina – Ivanci – Mlajtinci – Noršinci – Martjanci – Moravske Toplice

The route is 17 kilometers long and is classified as easy. Slovenian ultra cyclist Jure Robič set the world record in the 24-hour time trial on this track in 2004. He covered 840 km in a round trip without a rest. You can also do a round trip, but we recommend you take a rest in each village. In Moravske Toplice with its famous thermal baths, in Tešanovci with a chocolate shop, in Bogojina with Plečniks creation, and in Martjanci, where you can admire the frescoes of Janez Aquila. From there, take the bike path back to Moravske Toplice.


Gorička pot (Goričko Route)
The route: Mačkovci – Vidonci – Dolič – Kuzma – Grad – Kruplivnik – Radovci – Bodonci – Poznanovci – Prosečka vas – Mačkovci

The route is 34 kilometers long and is one of the more challenging, as it has many climbs and descents. At the begining, in the village of Mačkovci, you visit a wine cellar and a homestead with more than a hundred-year tradition. From there, head towards the village of Otovci and the route will take you to the western part of the Goričko Nature park, to the village of Grad. We recommend visiting one of the largest castles in Slovenia, with 365 rooms. A good choice is also a visit to the theme park Vulkanija, where you will learn all about volcanoes. Continue through the villages of Radovci and Bodonci, then turn from the main road through the village of Poznanovci and finish the route back in Mačkovci.


Rotunda
The route: Moravske Toplice – Tešanovci – Vučja Gomila – Selo – Prosenjakovci – Pordašinci – Motvarjevci – Bukovnica – Bogojina – Tešanovci – Moravske Toplice

The route is 30 km long and is slightly more difficult due to the climbs, but still accessible to recreative cyclists. The beautiful views of the landscape make it worth the effort. From Moravske Toplice, head towards Tešanovci, where you can visit a chocolate shop. Follows a climb to Vučja Gomila and a descent to the romantic rotunda in Selo. You continue through the villages of Prosenjakovci, Pordašinci and Motvarjevci, to Bukovnica. From here you can extend the route to Bukovnica Lake, where you can recharge your body with energy at the energy points, drink water from a natural spring or simply enjoy the peace and beautiful nature. You continue to Bogojina, where you can visit Plečniks beautiful church, or enjoy Prekmurje delicacies at a nearby tourist farm. Then you continue through Tešanovci back to Moravske Toplice.


Dolinska pot (Valley Route)
The route: Lendava – Trimlini – Petišovci – Benice – Pince Marof – Pince – Dolina pri Lendavi – Čentiba – Lendavske Gorice – Lendava – Dolga vas – Mostje – Genterovci – Kamovci – Dobrovnik – Turnišče – Nedelica – Brezovica – Velika Polana – Mala Polana – Lendava

The route is 54 kilometers long and runs through the flat part of Prekmuje region, so it belongs to the easy ones. Since it starts in Lendava and returns to Lendava in between, you can also shorten it and go only in one or the other direction. At the beginning or at the end of the route, take time to visit Lendava. Visit the Vinarium Tower, see the mummy and many other cultural attractions. Throughout the year, Lendava also hosts numerous events. The largest Jewish cemetery in Slovenia is located in Dolga vas, and lovers of tropical beauty should not miss the orchid greenhouse in Dobrovnik. Anyone who enjoys nature or would like to recharge their body at the energy points can extend the route towards Bukovnica Lake, which is only 3 kilometers from Dobrovnik. Otherwise, you continue your journey through Turnišče to Velika Polana, which is the European stork village, and where you can visit the homestead of the writer Miško Kranjec. Then through Mala Polana back to Lendava.


Murska kolesarska pot – desni breg (Mura cycle Route - right river bank)
The route: Trate - Zgornje Konjišče - Črnci - Apače - Segovci - Lutverci - Podgrad - Gornja Radgona - Mele - Šratovci - Radenci - Turjanci - Hrastje Mota - Vučja vas - Stara Nova vas - Veržej - Banovci - Krapje - Cven - Mota - Razkrižje - Šafarsko - Gibina

The entire route is 125 kilometers long, and you can join or leave it at any section. It runs along the flat part along the Mura River, and the terrain of the route decents slightly all the time, so it is considered an easy cycling route. It starts at the border crossing with Austria in the town of Trate, and the first stop can already be in Zgornje Konjišče, where there are fishing ponds and a mighty oak tree. Return to the main road and continue towards Apače. Then through Segovci, Lutverci and Podgrad to Gornja Radgona. Visit the Bridge of friendship that connects the town with Bad Radkersburg in Austria. The sparkling wine lovers should visit the wine cellar. You continue the route through Mele and Šratovci and arrive in Radence, with a famous thermal spa. You continue your journey through Turjanci, Hrastje – Mota, Vučja vas, Stara Nova vas, and there you head towards Veržej. We recommend visiting the mill on Mura river. Then continue to Banovci and past the thermal spa to Krapje, where you can find the beekeeping museum. You continue your journey towards Cven, Mota and then to Razkrižje. There you will find a footpath with energy points and many natural and cultural attractions. You end the route through Šafarsko to Gibina at the border with Croatia.


Murska kolesarska pot – levi breg (Mura cycle Route - left river bank)
The route: Gederovci - Sodišinci - Murski Petrovci - Petanjci - Tišina - Tropovci - Gradišče - Murski Črnci - Satahovci - Krog - Bakovci - Dokležovje - Ižakovci - Melinci - Gornja Bistrica - Srednja Bistrica - Dolnja Bistrica - Hotiza - Velika Polana - Mala Polana – Lendava – Dolina pri Lendavi – Pince

The entire route is 59 kilometers long, and you can join or leave it at any section. It runs along the flat part along the Mura River, and the terrain of the route decents slightly all the time, so it is considered an easy cycling route. It starts at the border crossing with Austria in Gederovci. You go through the villages of Sodišinci and Murski Petrovci and arrive in Petanjci. You can turn right and cycle to the end of the village, where you can admire the Mura river from the bridge. Otherwise, turn left towards Tišina. You continue through Tropovci, Gradišče, Murski Črnci and Satahovci and cycle to Krog. You can extend the route by visiting Murska Sobota, which is only 2.5 kilometers away from Krog. The vibrant city, which is the administrative and cultural center of Prekmurje, is definitely worth a visit. Otherwise, from Krog, continue cycling through Bakovci and Dokležovje to the village of Ižakovci. Here we recommend visiting the Island of Love and the floating mill on the Mura river. You continue towards Melinci, which is known for its brickmaking, and on to Gornja Bistrica. In order to stay on the left bank of the Mura river, continue through Srednja Bistrica and Dolnja Bistrica along the banks of the Mura river, pass a forest clearing, fields and wood paths to Hotiza. Then turn towards Velika Polana, which is known as the European stork village. The route takes you further towards Mala Polana, where you can stop at Copeks mill, and then continue along the Črnec stream through the forest, pass the fields all the way to the Ledava river and the town of Lendava. There you can visit many cultural attractions. The route continues past Dolina pri Lendavi and Lendavske gorice along the wine road. A few more kilometers of cycling follow, and the journey ends in the village of Pince near the border with Hungary.


Iron Curtain Trail – EuroVelo 13
The route: Martinje - Ženavlje - Šulinci - Adrijanci - Šalovci - Hodoš - Krplivnik - Domanjševci - Prosenjakovci - Motvarjevci - Kobilje - Dobrovnik - Žitkovci - Genterovci - Mostje - Dolga vas - Lendava - Čentiba - Pince
The Iron Curtain Trail cycling link runs from the Barents Sea to the Black Sea along the entire border of the countries of the former Eastern Bloc. With a total length of 9,000 kilometers, it crosses the territory of 20 countries. The relatively short Slovenian part of the cycling route runs through Prekmurje.

The route is 66 kilometers long and starts in the hilly Goričko, so it is one of the more challenging. From the Austrian border, cycle from the village of Martinje to Ženavlje, where you will find a memorial on the spot where the stratospheric balloon landed in 1934. You continue through the villages of Šulinci, Adrijanci and Šalovci to Hodoš. Along the way, observe the traditional villages of the Prekmurje region, and in Berkovci you will find a cultural and technical monument of millers trade. Eventually, you cycle into the flat part of Prekmurje. The route takes you along the former border, so you can see former border guardhouses and lookout towers. From Berkovci you continue through Prosenjakovci, Motvarjevci and Kobilje to Dobrovnik. Lovers of tropical beauty, dont miss the orchid greenhouse. We suggest that you extend the route to Bukovnica Lake, which is only 3 kilometers away. Enjoy nature, fill up with energy at the energy points and refresh yourself with water from a natural spring. Continue the route from Dobrovnik through Žitkovci, Genterovci, Mostje and Dolga vas to Lendava. There you can visit many cultural sights or the Vinarium Tower and refresh yourself with local delicacies. Lendava is declared the world capital of bograč. A few more kilometers of cycling through Čentiba to Pince follow, where the route ends at the border with Hungary.
